Senador Chahuán y Ministro del Trabajo acuerdan compromiso para apoyar a pescadores de Quintero y Puchuncaví tras grave crisis ambiental

Por 452 Comments

Son más de 420 pescadores artesanales de Quintero y Puchuncaví que llevan más de tres meses sin poder trabajar y por ende, no han podido generar sustento para sus hogares. Los graves episodios de contaminación, sumado a las restricciones para extraer en las áreas cercanas a los buques de carga, han hecho imposible las faenas.

 

Por eso sus dirigentes y representantes lograron reunirse con el Ministro del Trabajo, Nicolás Monckeberg y la subsecretaria de Previsión Social María José Zaldívar, tras las gestiones realizadas por el senador Francisco Chahuán. Una reunión franca y sincera donde pidieron todo el apoyo necesario para poder salir de la magra situación en que se encuentran.

 

Como resultado de las conversaciones se plantearon tres fórmulas para ayudar a los pescadores artesanales: una mesa de trabajo con las empresas privadas de la zona, el Estado y los trabajadores, buscando algún tipo de compensación o espacio para que los pescadores puedan encontrar una fuente laboral, apoyo en la generación de nuevos emprendimientos en la zona y una política de reconversión laboral para los hombres de mar.

 

“No habíamos tenido la oportunidad de tener una cercanía con alguna autoridad tan alta del gobierno como es el Ministro. Se comprometió una mesa de trabajo, en la cual vamos a diseñar algunos sistemas de emprendimiento, de reconversión y nos interesa llegar a conversar con el sistema privado y hacer una mesa de tres patas: el gobierno, la empresa público privada y los pescadores que habíamos sido postergados, ya que se nos vienes tiempo difíciles», sostuvo uno de los vocero de los pescadores de Quintero y Puchuncaví, Roberto Monardes.

 

Por su parte el senador (RN) Francisco Chahuán, aseguró que la idea es trabajar de forma rápida, ya que los pescadores no pueden esperar a que se lleven a cabo los estudios el próximo año para poder retomar sus fuentes de sustento. “Se ha comprometido formar una mesa de trabajo en la cual se convoque al Seremi de Economía y a la Asociación Industriales Valparaíso para buscar distintas formulas. La primera: aquella que permita compensar a los pescadores artesanales de Quintero y Puchuncaví. En segundo lugar, buscar fórmulas que permitan que la empresa también compense derechamente a los pescadores artesanales, por las pérdidas que han sufrido en términos de no poder salir a la mar a pescar o a mariscar. En tercer lugar, buscar algo que permita generar en aquellos pescadores artesanales que quieran generar un emprendimiento laboral”. 

 

En la reunión estuvieron presentes representantes de las caletas Loncura, El Papagayo, Embarcadero, El Manzano, Alcatraz y Horcón, todos ellos impedidos de salir al mar a realizar el trabajo que por años habían realizado.
