Una delegación del Consejo Regional de Valparaíso, presidido por Percy Marín, participó en el Congreso Sudamericano para el Desarrollo, organizado por el Senado de la Provincia de Buenos Aires y la Unión de Parlamentarios Sudamericanos del Mercosur. La cita, abordó la importancia de la promoción y ejecución de los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible y contó con la participación de expositores de gobiernos provinciales de la República Argentina, legisladores, académicos y autoridades del gobierno.
Junto a ello, se llevó a cabo la Asamblea de los miembros de la Unión de Parlamentarios Sudamericanos y del Mercosur, que abordó el balance de actividades de este año y sometió a votación la elección de las nuevas autoridades que la componen. En ese contexto, el Presidente del CORE de Valparaíso, Percy Marín fue elegido como Presidente del Foro del Corredor Bioceánico, instancia de participación de parlamentarios y autoridades de los países del Mercosur, que tiene como propósito mejorar las medidas de intercambio comercial y cultural entre sus países, potenciando así las buenas relaciones entre los Estados miembros.
El Presidente del Consejo Regional de Valparaíso Percy Marín agradeció la nominación para encabezar este Foro internacional, señalando que “es un gran honor haber sido electo y asumir el rol de Presidente del Corredor Bioceánico Central, que para nuestro país además es de gran relevancia, puesto que nos permite trabajar en temas de intercambio con países de la Alianza del Pacífico, y en particular, para potenciar futuros encuentros en donde se consideren también temas de salud pública, y de modo especial, el tratamiento del cáncer”.
