En el marco de la campaña de socialización e información a la comunidad, la Corporación Aconcagua Región y el Movimiento Yo Amo Región de Aconcagua entregaron una carta al alcalde de San Felipe, Patricio Freire, para solicitar la incorporación de la categoría “Canción por la Región de Aconcagua” en el próximo Festival Palmenia Pizarro.
El secretario general de la Corporación Aconcagua Región, Claudio Gómez, sostuvo que “la idea es posicionar a la Región de Aconcagua a nivel nacional y dar la oportunidad a los artistas locales para difundir su arte y tener una canción para todo el proceso que nos resta”.
El vicepresidente de la Corporación Aconcagua Región, Juan Carlos Monasterio, precisó que “tanto esta petición como la campaña de difusión que estamos llevando en todas las comunas y lugares más alejados de Aconcagua tiene un solo objetivo, cual es sensibilizar a la población y al ciudadano común y corriente de la importancia de contar con una región separada de Valparaíso, que como lo hemos dicho en innumerables ocasiones se lleva el grueso de las inversiones y proyectos y eso no nos parece justo”.
Luego de entregar la carta al alcalde Freire, el dirigente del Movimiento Yo Amo Región de Aconcagua, Yuri Quiroz, informó que “el alcalde nos expresó que encontraba una excelente iniciativa la canción por la Región de Aconcagua, por lo que entregará los antecedentes al Consejo municipal y a la Comisión del Festival Palmenia Pizarro, pero que en definitiva él apoyaba la idea de los movimientos ciudadanos en este sentido”
Por su parte Paula Freire, integrante del movimiento Yo Amo Región de Aconcagua y vocera de la Fundación Tres Valles, sostuvo que “estamos muy felices, ya que se trata de un acto simbólico, con el que podemos lograr un himno que puede darle más fuerza a nuestra demanda”. Agregó que “falta la presencia femenina en el movimiento, por lo que hago un llamado a las mujeres ya que es muy importante su participación”.
